Dan Brereton is a Southern California native who could not have been more excited about the opportunity to start his practice in San Diego. As a teenager though, he grew up in Utah, living at the base of Mt. Timpanogos. He rock climbed, listened to some rock and roll (Led Zeppelin anyone?), and did a ‘little’ studying on the side. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Physiology and followed it up with his medical school degree at Midwestern University in Arizona. Soon, Dr. Brereton ended up in Riverside for his Orthopedic Residency at the county hospital which allowed him to learn to care for some of the most complex trauma patients the area had to offer.
His fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow surgery was done in Dallas alongside the renowned physicians, Doctors Burkhead, Worrel, and Moen. He was involved with the care of professional and collegiate athletes during his time in training, including the Dallas Mavericks and sports at the University of California-Riverside. He is now part of the medical team in San Diego that cares for the San Diego Gulls.
He is now proud to be a part of the San Diego community of physicians, and hopes to create a kind and welcoming practice where patients go to find hope and expert care for their orthopedic needs.
